Vision & Mission

OUR vision

Every person is a creation of God and deserves to be loved and treated with dignity! Our hope is that as many people as possible will be reconciled with their Creator through Jesus Christ.

Who we are

We are a family from Switzerland who were called by God to Kaabong to serve the poor, orphans, those in need and to make disciples of Jesus. We are inspired by God’s love and want to share that love with others. Together with our local team, it is our passion to bring justice to those who are treated unjustly, to love those who are not loved by their own people and to create opportunities to break free from the cycle of poverty. Material help goes hand in hand with spiritual and emotional support.

Where we are

We live in the small town/village of Kaabong. It is located in northeastern Uganda, near South Sudan and Kenya. The subregion is called Karamoja, and the district is Kaabong. This is the region most affected by poverty in all of Uganda. It is characterized by
ancient traditions, poverty, hopelessness, and a lack of prospects. The conditions for agriculture are rather difficult due to the dry climate.
The consequences of this are: Hunger, alcohol abuse, violence, theft, illiteracy, disease, abuse, broken families, etc. Another major problem is the practice of polygamy, with all its negative consequences in general and in combination with poverty. Many children have no opportunity to attend school and are often used as laborers or domestic helpers. A large number of young people and adults are unemployed and therefore have no income.

Our Work

We have divided our work into five areas:
- Children's Home
- Education
- Food Aid
- Immediate Help
- Faith

Our main focus is on children and youth in and around Kaabong, especially boys living on the streets.

To address this challenge, we have established a state-recognized and certified children’s home.
These boys, as well as other children who were unable to attend school, are now able to receive an education through LionHeart Africa.

We see great potential in agriculture. It is important to us to support this. We encourage everyone who owns a garden or field to use every available space and are happy to distribute seeds generously. Helping people to help themselves. In addition, we distribute food packages to individuals in need as required.

We also serve as a point of contact for all kinds of problems.
For example: home repairs, assistance with funerals, mediating disputes, medical matters, various family situations, education, rent, etc.

The Bible teaches us that we should care for those in need. We do this gladly and our hope is that through our encounters, people may come to recognize the light of this world.

Many people here claim to be Christians, but many have heard little or nothing (yet) about a living relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Himself says: “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” Whoever has Him has everything!

But what does that mean in practical terms?
To encourage this understanding, we live out discipleship!

Why LionHeart?

Lion/Continent of Africa – Together They Form One Heart

In the Bible, Jesus is also described as the “Lion of Judah.” The lion is a symbol of the King.
The first time, He came to this earth as a lamb that was sacrificed. The second time, Jesus will return to this earth as King and Conqueror and will definitively establish His kingdom. Until that time, we want to represent Him courageously and consistently on this earth, serve people, and make them disciples.

Together with the continent of Africa, there is one heart—above all is LOVE. When Jesus lived on this earth, He wanted to show people the LOVE of the Father (God).

This is also our desire, therefore—LIONHEART AFRICA
