Albin Sarbach (President of the Board)

I grew up in this region and now live with my wife between Thun and Bern; I am an entrepreneur by profession. I spent just under a year living abroad, where I experienced not only foreign cultures but also the deeper value of solidarity and cooperation among different groups of people. Today, I volunteer with LionHeart Africa because I firmly believe in the organization’s vision. This is not just about supporting people in Africa, but also about creating a valuable win-win situation: The people we support on the ground gain new perspectives and opportunities in their daily lives—and at the same time, we enable our supporters in Switzerland to be part of positive change and make a significant impact. By working together for this cause, we create sustainable and meaningful connections and relationships that go far beyond the immediate provision of aid. Let’s make a difference together.

I grew up in the Interlaken region and have been living in Heimberg with my wife for the past few years. I work as an electrician. I have been involved with the LionHeart Africa CH association since its founding and would like to support our partners in Uganda. I am grateful for every person who cares deeply about those who are often forgotten in our daily lives. It encourages me to hear that so many people can be helped in Kaabong. This motivates me to find supporters for their work and take on tasks to lighten their load. That way, they can focus on the projects on the ground.

Bernhard Eggenberg (Member of the Board)

I live in Heimberg with my wife and our four children, who are almost all grown up. I work as a train dispatcher at BLS AG in Spiez. As a family, we’ve had the privilege of spending extended periods of time in Africa on several occasions to help the local people. What stays with me are the countless encounters with fascinating people, their deep gratitude despite difficult circumstances and poverty, and the joy and sparkle in their eyes when we took an interest in their lives.
I have realized that even the smallest gesture of kindness, help, and compassion can bring hope, perspective, and change to a single life. That is what LionHeart Africa stands for. I look forward to working with you to change the lives of people in Uganda through your compassion and support. Commitment is needed here in Switzerland and in Africa. Together, we can make a real difference. That is my motivation for getting involved with LionHeart Africa.

I live with my wonderful wife in the beautiful Aaretal in Wichtrach.
We have two grown children who continue to bring us great joy. Having grown up in Thun, Münsingen, and Wichtrach I completed my apprenticeship as a sporting goods salesperson in Konolfingen at Berger Schuhe & Sport AG. An employer who has been with me for many years. I lived in Canada for a little over four years, which taught me many things. Now I work for an aid organization that operates in over 60 countries worldwide.
LionHeart is a matter close to my heart. Not only because I have deep ties to Fingers, his family, and the team, but also because I share the vision they brought to Kaabong: “That everyone deserves to be loved and treated with dignity, and that as many people as possible may be reconciled with their Creator through Jesus Christ.” With every act of help, no matter how big or small, lives can be transformed!
